When you live in a place that gets really cold, you tend to appreciate the small victories over the weather and those seasonal "firsts" are important and reveled in. The first time you can see a patch of grass peeking out under a mountain of dirty snow. The first time you drive with your window cracked ever so slightly because it is actually above freezing. The first bird you can hear singing you a song like you were Cinderella. Today, I looked up at the sky and I saw Summer clouds. Technically, I've seen a summer sky a couple days this last few weeks, but this time, I was actually outside on a walk, in a sleeveless shirt, with the sun shining down on me. I am so ready for summer to be here already. It's time. Come soon summer! We'll be friends. I'll write you funny notes and braid your hair.
